Method
- Preheat the espresso machine by running hot water through it for a few seconds and grind the coffee beans to a fine consistency.
- Fill the portafilter with the ground coffee, making sure it is level and evenly distributed. Then, Tamp the coffee grounds with the tamper, using firm and even pressure to compress the grounds.
- Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine and place the espresso cup underneath the spout. Then , turn on the espresso machine and allow it to heat up for a few seconds before extracting the shot.
- Start the extraction process by pressing the button or lever on the machine. The water should flow through the coffee grounds for around 25-30 seconds, producing a thick and creamy espresso shot.
- Stop the extraction process once the desired amount of espresso has been produced (usually 1-2 ounces). Serve the espresso shot immediately, as it is best enjoyed fresh.
