- Boil 1 cup of water and pour it into a cup or mug.
- Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of instant coffee to the hot water and stir until dissolved.
- Froth the milk by either using a milk frother or heating it in a saucepan until it forms a creamy foam.
- Spoon the frothed milk over the coffee, filling the cup about 2/3 of the way.
- Top the milk with a bit of foam.
- Sprinkle with cocoa powder (optional)
- Add sugar (optional.)

- Almond or soy milk can be used in place of ordinary skimmed milk to produce vegan cappuccinos.
